Blogs for Designers, Artists and Just for Fun

In-HOWse: All things in-house
I recently stumbled upon author/designer/speaker Andy Epstein’s blog written just for in-house creatives. Although Andy’s blog is geared towards the in-house crowd, his observations advice are also relevant for freelancers and those considering crossing over into in-house work.

The Quicksilver Workaholic: Cathy Johnson—An Artist’s Journal
I had the pleasure of working with Cathy Johnson on her book Creating Nature in Watercolor a few years ago and have been following her blog ever since. Cathy’s newsy postings about art, food and life are fun and informative. She’s also a savvy businesswoman, who has found a number of creative ways to support herself through her art. Also, be sure to check out Cathy’s newest book Watercolor Tricks & Techniques.

Hyperbole and a Half
OK, this is actually a humor blog, but it also has really great (and hilarious) illustrations. It’s almost a combination blog and online comic. Allie Brosh’s outrageous tales are always great for an afternoon pick-me-up!

Where do you find inspiration online? Feel free to post your favorite art and design blogs here.

Have a great weekend!
Mary
